Dallas Mayer, Oklahoma ranch lady, who also happens to be an artist, works in three mediums: watercolor, pastel and oil, which is her preferred medium.

When Dallas is not painting, she is out helping on her family’s Oklahoma Centennial Ranch where she gets most of her inspiration and ideas to paint.


At the young age of 17, Dallas was fortunate to start her art studies under the direction of Dord Fitz in 1979. She took lessons from Jack Sorenson and Glen Lyle at the Fowler Art Center as well as the Baker Art Center. Amarillo Art
Institute has given Dallas the opportunity to continue art studies with quality instructors Ramon Kelly, Chuck Olsen, Anita Louise West, Harold Scott, Danny Gamble, Linda Glover Gooch, Max Stewart, Lee Lester, Rose Edin, Richard Alan Nichols, Guido Frick, Emin Abassov, Arleta Peck, Mickey Wells, Joshua Sorenson, Yvonne Sangster, Ned Mueller, Lorenzo Chavez and Mike Mahon.


Current and upcoming shows include Ben Johnson Museum in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Bob Lile Art Gallery in Amarillo, Texas, Cerulean Gallery in Amarillo, Texas, Dumas Art Center-Window of the Plains in Dumas, Texas, Graceful Arts Center in Alva, Oklahoma, Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center in Enid, Oklahoma, Carnegie Center for the Arts in Dodge City, Kansas and The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Through the years, Dallas has enjoyed working with people to help them display their treasured photographs in albums. Her hobbies include genealogy, flying, snow skiing, writing, and also treasure hunting for relics and
projectile points.
